About Freeling

Happy Haven OSHC Freeling is a tight-knit community located on the traditional land of the Ngadjuri people. We acknowledge the land we meet on is the traditional land of the Ngadjuri People, we thank the Ngadjuri People for sharing their land and we will help take care of the land together. We operate from a classroom with access to a lawn area, playground, nature play area, COLA, library, and STEM room. These areas support ample opportunities for learning through play.

At Happy Haven OSHC Freeling we deliver an engaging and inclusive program that highlights the skills and capabilities of all children. We value each child’s voice and aim to have all children reflected in our program and environment through structured and spontaneous play.

It is our philosophy that all children should feel safe, secure, and supported in our care. We value leaderships skills at and prompt this through our routines at OSHC. These opportunities are seen through our outside and inside leaders, Country leaders and OSHC Committee members. We also provide children to have the opportunity to learn through play, and to express themselves culturally, socially, spiritually, and emotionally.

NQS Rating and Assessment

Policies

Happy Haven OSHC has well developed policies and procedures approved by DECD and school Governing Councils on all sites on which we operate. You may ask to see a Policy at any time, and these will be available at your service. We have included some of our policies which may be particularly relevant to you here for your convenience.

All OSHC services need to meet basic standards in order to operate. This is monitored by a national body called ACECQA, with some responsibilities delegated to a South Australian agency referred to as The Board. OSHC services must demonstrate their competency across the 7 Quality Areas of the National Quality Framework for OSHC, and have rating and assessment visits on a regular basis. You can ask educators at your service for information relating to any assessment and rating visits they have had, as well as being able to access the site’s Quality Improvement Plan.

For a more detailed list of our policies please download the document below.
